At Ellen Wilkinson we offer psychology at A-Level. It is a popular choice with many students relishing the opportunity to study a subject that they have not experienced before with a number of students continuing to study the subject at university each year.
Psychology is the study of the mind and the way that humans behave. We look at why individuals act the way they do, focusing on a variety of psychological areas.
Examples of questions we investigate:
- Are we the result of our genes or our environment?
- Can we rely on eyewitness testimony
- Can we measure intelligence?
- How far will we obey authority?
- Could we teach a chimp language?
- How does our infancy affect our lives?

Students can choose to take psychology for A-level from year 12.
