The Sixth Form Offer

At EWS we offer three sixth form pathways.

1. A Level pathway

2. BTEC Level 3 Pathway

3. CTEC Level 2 Pathway

A level Pathway

To study A levels you will need at least 5 GCSEs at grade 5 or above including at least a grade 5 in English Language. You will also need to meet the individual subject requirements. Detailed information for each subject can be found in the academic area of the site.

Students will select 3 A level subjects from the blocks below. It is only possible to choose one subject from any block. It is also possible to study an EPQ or Core maths alongside your A levels. If you have any questions please email Mr Jarvis.

BTEC Level 3 Pathway

To study this programme you will need at least 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above including at least a grade 4 in English Language. We offer two core subjects for BTEC level 3 Business or Health and social care and Child Development. These two subjects are offered as a double award BTEC and are the core of a student’s curriculum. The core is then supplemented by either BTEC Digital Media or BTEC Information Technology or with an A level which can be chosen from the blocks above if students meet the entrance criteria. It is also possible to study Core maths or an EPQ with your BTEC programme.

CTEC Level 2 Pathway

The CTEC level 2 pathway is designed to offer a route to advanced level studies for students who have not gained the required grades for level 3. To study the level 2 programme you will need at least 5 grade 3 or above at GCSE including a at least a grade 3 for English language. On this programme students will study a level 2 Cambridge Technical award in Health and Social Care alongside English and Maths GCSE.
