On 22nd June, a group of year 10 GCSE astronomy students attended the Royal Observatory in Greenwich. They participated in a workshop on ‘The Expanding Universe’, visited the galleries and attended a masterclass entitled ‘Galaxies and Cosmology’. Other highlights included, handling meteorites, enjoying a planetarium show delivered by an astronomer and a chance to stand on the famous Prime Meridian. The day was a thoroughly enriching, educational experience enjoyed by students and staff alike.
