Black Cultural Archives 2024

A group of Year 7 and 8 students visited the Black Cultural Archives In Brixton. Here they explored an array of primary sources that gave them an insight into black British history and contributions to wider society. Not only were students able to access these sources, but it also enabled them to make connections between their History lessons at school and the topics discussed at the Archive.

It was a wonderful experience that promoted the celebration of Caribbean and African experiences and histories, whilst also exploring never before seen remnants of the past such as the ‘Gibson Bus Conductor ticket machine’…. a first for our 21st century born students!
