Summer Science Exhibition 2017
On July 3rd 2017, 20 girls from year 10 visited the annual Summer Exhibition held at the prestigious Royal Society in London.
This year, researchers from across the UK showed how DNA folding influences disease, how to harness the power of quantum computing and gave us the opportunity to interact with holograms using a HoloLens device. Our girls also learnt how tropical crows have developed tool-using skills, how smart surfaces can prevent infection and how fluorescence is used to protect coral.
Each of the 22 stands had experts and interactive models to engage and inspire students. This exhibition is well worth a visit for all, where theoretical science comes alive at the exciting, cutting-edge forefront of innovation.
