Sixth Form Statement

The Ellen Wilkinson School is a non-selective inner city girls' school in Acton, west London, with students from a huge variety of cultural, religious and ethnic backgrounds. The local area is diverse with areas of high deprivation and 40% of pupils at the school are on the pupil premium indicator. We accommodate students from a wide ability range in our sixth form, and many take a three year route to Advanced level through a level 2 bridging course. BTECs are offered at Level 2 and Level 3 alongside our A level programme, and we also offer our students the opportunity to complete an EPQ. The sixth form has a current enrolment of 250, and over the last three years over 90% of Year 13 students gained a place at university, with 20% progressing to Russell Group universities. 78% of our students this year will be among the first generation in their families to apply to a UK university. Predicted grades are based largely on results in end of Year 12 exams, but are also informed by a student's performance throughout the year.
