Year 6 - 7 admissions in September 2023
Thank you for your interest in the Ellen Wilkinson School for Girls.
We recognise that the move to secondary may be a daunting and often complicated task. We urge you to remember that it is also a very exciting time! Our transition programme aims to provide as much information as possible for both parents/carers and children. Also, we recommend that you check the website for additional information in the next few months.
For many of you who know the school, EWS will be your first choice. For those of you who are going through the transition process for the first time, please be assured that we are an excellent choice. We are an outstanding school with a very experienced pastoral team and high quality teachers. We are looking forward to meeting your child and making this a happy experience for them. We are always ready to discuss the admission process as well as EWS itself, should you wish to know more.

Appeals
Every year we have a number of families who chose to make an appeal for a school place at EWS. This is a formal process with an independent panel. The London Borough of Ealing does not organise the administration of our appeals process, so you will not see EWS listed on the appeals section of the borough website. Click here to see how to appeal.
How to Appeal
Parents/carers wishing to appeal should write a letter FAO the Head Teacher: Ms Kruger stating the name and date of birth of their child and their grounds for appeal. Parents/carers may wish to include supporting evidence should they have any.
If you wish to have information about time frames for appeals or should you be considering an appeal and you wish to discuss this with a member of EWS staff please ring the school and ask to speak to a member of the admissions team or email admissions@ellenwilkinson.ealing.sch.uk
Parents/carers have the right to initiate an appeal at any point in time, in their child's journey from Year 6 to Year 11.
